Volunteers who have developed more than 3.7 million acres of pheasant and other wildlife habitat since inception. Much of it right here in Aberdeen and the surrounding areas.

Protect, restore, and enhance wildlife habitat by establishing and maintaining local and regional projects

Develop, distribute, and foster conservation education – locally and regionally

Introduce and advance prudent conservation policy

Youth Pollinator Plots – Education events are held annually and a total of 800+ children will attend these events.

Youth Pheasant Hunts – 3 hunts conducted in 2023 and more than 550 youth have attended these events since they were started.

Acquire and preserve critical habitat through public land acquisition open to public hunting

Always working hand in hand with SD Game Fish & Parks as well as U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service

Northern SD Chapter Pheasants Forever has funded the following local projects:

• Planted over 70,000 acres of food plots,
• Restoration of 6,103 wetland nesting acres
• Planted 397,000 trees in the surrounding area
• Partnered with Local, State, and Federal agencies to:
  • Purchase over 1000 acres of habitat with hunting access
  • Establish private lands habitat biologist positions in South Dakota to help landowners develop habitat on their properties.
  • Take the lead on the Aberdeen Pheasant Coalition to create more than 4,000 acres of habitat open to public hunting in Brown County
